Let's face it, as a consumer you don't like making mistakes Right?...
All you really want to know is when is the best time to get the best deal on an RV?

  •  An RV Show is just that, a show. There is a Promoter who has to make money! In most cases an RV Dealer has to pay huge dollars for show space.

  • RV shows usually consist of many RV Dealers assembled at a local Fairgrounds or other  facility where many RV's can be displayed indoors... These big buildings cost lots of money to rent! Not to mention Hotel rooms for the Salespeople, Meals, Transport for each RV by Gas guzzling Trucks, and Show staff wages. Who do you really think pays for it? YOU DO!

  • RV Shows are great to see many manufacturers products all in one place, to shop floorplans, and to generally narrow down your search to the RV's that best fit your needs. But thats it! You will pay more! There is always going to be a cost to recoup by your Dealer.

  • BUYER BEWARE: Unfortunately there are Dealers out there that will Inflate the Retail, to show greater savings, both at shows and on the lot! / If the MSRP sticker in the RV is printed on a plain piece of paper or Dealer Letterhead...Demand that they show you the true MSRP that comes with every new RV (This Should always have the Manufacturer's Letterhead or printed logo on top; with the SHIP TO: address of your Dealer)...If this can't be provided to you then run!

An RV Sale is usually a smaller type of Venue...
Parking lot events, Dealer Lot Promotions / Open houses,  Mall events etc...
Lower costs for the dealer means more savings to you!

  • Lets look at an example: A typical RV show to most Dealers means moving about 30 units, sometimes hundreds of miles away. Most dealers hope to sell at least 1/3 of the display. Typical cost of display space needed for 30 units could be up to $15,000 in dealers expence. If only 10 are sold, this equates to $1,500.00/RV sold, and thats before staff wages, meals, hotel, fuel, etc...YOU PAY MORE!

  • Now lets look at a Typical Mall event or parking lot promotion: In many cases an RV sale is a "Draw" for Malls. Events like these are mutually benificial for the Dealer as well as the facility owner, The Dealer gets people from the Mall. And Mall sales increase because of the RV sale. For that reason the cost for this type of sale, may only be $50.00 to $100/unit to transport, THATS $1,400 IN YOUR POCKET!...A dealer can afford to bring more units and show greater discounts... and if you buy from a dealers lot you save even more!
